Out and About Christchurch Central

In the next few weeks I will be out and about Christchurch Central in my sign written vehicle. If you see me and you want to have a chat please stop me. I want to hear from you to know have you think and feel how this country is going. It is about time the Government listened to us.
I was reading on the web that in June 2008 31,900 left NZ for Australia this is the highest annual level in 19 yrs. That works out to be around 1063 people a day is this what we want as a country all our people in Australia. Help me to stop this mass exit by voting party ACT for a better NZ. ACT has a plan no other party has, a plan that will make us better than Australia. Plus if you want a copy of the 20 point plan let me know and I'll send it out to you.

Dinner With Rodney Hide

Dinner with Rodney Hide
10 July 2008

If New Zealand is not 1st in the world in sport we as a nation are in despair
- - goodness sometimes we have to put up with 2nd or even 3rd!

Why oh why then do we so easily and gutlessly accept a ranking of 40th on the world economic scale or 22nd on the OECD rankings?

To quote a visiting South American agricultural expert recently
‘Don’t New Zealanders realise how fast the world is changing?’

Government spending has increased by $25 Billion in the last eight years.
After inflation real Government spending has increased by a whopping $15 Billion per year
This extravagant spending burdens every family in New Zealand with an extra cost of $200 per week

According to a recent Treasury analysis this staggering spending growth produced ‘no discernible net benefit’

It doesn’t stop there!!
Poor quality government spending is the main cause of inflation
This causes our mortgage interest rates to be at least 3.5% higher than if we were a well run economy.
The extra cost on every $200,000 mortgage is a further $100 per week.

Greece has just whizzed past New Zealand on the OECD rankings where we now rank a miserly 22nd.

If we were a State in Australia we would poorer than the poorest State (Tasmania) by $100 per week per person

If we were a State in the USA we would be 51st (and last) - $120 a week poorer than Mississippi!!

A change of government is not enough!
What New Zealand urgently needs is a change of direction.

National is saying ‘me too’ to the present government’s policies so they are saying they will do the same as now - - only better!

I am not writing all this gloom to thrust you deeper into despair

There is hope!!!!!!!
ACT has a 20 Point Plan to lift the average New Zealander’s income by $500 per week

This Years Election

I am dissatisfied with the way the country is going, instead of just talking about it, I have decided to run in this years election as an ACT Candidate for Christchurch Central. I'm wanting a better future for NZ as we are losing too many of our family members to Australia with better opportunities and pay. Plus I feel that NZ is going backwards and I want a better NZ for those of us who are staying.
About 10 years ago I looked at what the political parties had to offer and compared their policies and found that ACT had the policies that made sense to me and they still do.
I have decided to set up this blog so I can hear from you the public, so that I can get a better understanding of what your thoughts and feelings are.
It is time for NZers to act.
